Menopause
Menopause is a natural transition, but symptoms can feel overwhelming. Acupuncture helps regulate the body’s systems, reducing hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, and sleep disturbances.
Acupuncture offers a holistic approach to supporting women through the menopausal transition. Research suggests that acupuncture may help regulate the nervous system, improve the body's response to stress, and support the mechanisms involved in temperature regulation, potentially reducing the frequency and severity of hot flushes and night sweats (Avis et al., 2016; Chiu et al., 2015). Many women also report improvements in sleep quality and emotional wellbeing following treatment.
By helping to calm the nervous system and promote relaxation, acupuncture may also ease symptoms such as anxiety, low mood, fatigue, and brain fog, which are commonly experienced during menopause (Chiu et al., 2015). Regular treatment may additionally help relieve muscle tension, headaches, and general aches and pains, contributing to a greater sense of physical comfort and wellbeing.
While every woman's experience of menopause is different, many women report feeling more balanced, energised, emotionally resilient, and better equipped to manage their symptoms with ongoing treatment. Acupuncture can be used alongside lifestyle changes and conventional medical care, providing additional support to help women navigate this transition with greater confidence and ease.
